Where did the name "Truck of
Love" come from?
In 1967, Gordon Stewart
from Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Fremont drove a truck full of
clothes and toys to Fr. Elias Galvez OFM, stationed in the Arizona desert serving
the native American population. Gordon's 13 year old daughter, Leslie, named the project "Truck of
Love". Read more on the history of Truck of Love.

What does the specialized
cross in the logo represent?
The "people" in
the cross represent a family or community surrounding the cross. As a primarily
Christian community, we find our center point in our faith.

While many of those involved are Christians,
and we identify ourselves as a primarily Christian organization, people of all
beliefs and faiths are welcomed and encouraged to take part in our activities
and trips.

Has there been any press
coverage of the Truck of Love?
Yes, quite a bit. There have been a number of
TV news stories in the San Francisco Bay Area, and dozens of newspaper stories in all the
local northern California papers. We are unable to put links here since the Los Altos (CA) Town Crier links are no longer valid.
